PLAYWRITING COMPETITIONS
The Brick Playhouse announces the Brick
Playhouse Playwriting Awards.
The Brick Playhouse is inviting new scripts for consideration
for its annual playwriting awards. The Albert Benzwie Award
recognizes two outstanding one-acts written by playwrights from the
Greater Philadelphia area, The Roger Cornish Award is given to an
outstanding full-length play by a playwright from the Greater
Philadelphia area, and The Brick Playhouse Award is given to an
outstanding full-length by a national or international playwright. All
winners will receive a cash honorarium and a staged reading, as well as
consideration for production at The Brick.
The Roger Cornish Award for New Plays:
Is open to playwrights of the Greater Philadelphia area.
Original full-lengths that have not had an AEA production are eligible.
No musicals or children's plays. Limit one play per playwright. Winner
will receive a staged reading at The Brick Playhouse New Play Festival, $100 honorarium, and consideration for production. Submission requirements: TWO copies of your play in
Standard American format; name and contact information on title page
only, $10 entry fee, SASE if you desire notification. Scripts cannot be
returned. Winners will be posted on The Brick's website.

The Brick Playhouse Award for New Plays:
Is open to national and international playwrights residing
OUTSIDE the Greater Philadelphia area. Original full-lengths that have
not had an AEA production are eligible. No musicals or children's
plays. Limit one play per playwright. Winner will receive a staged
reading at The Brick Playhouse New Play Festival, $100
honorarium, and consideration production at The Brick.
Submission requirements: TWO copies of your play in Standard American
format; name and contact information on title page only, $10 entry fee,
SASE if you desire notification. Scripts cannot be returned. Winners
will be posted on The Brick's website.

Is open to national and international playwrights residing in
the Greater Philadelphia area. Original one-acts, 30 - 50 minutes long,
that have not had an AEA production are eligible. No musicals or
children's plays. Limit two one-acts per playwright. Winner will
receive a staged reading at The Brick Playhouse New Play Festival, $50 honorarium, and consideration for production. Submission requirements: TWO copies of your play in
Standard American format; name and contact information on title page
only, $5 entry fee per play, SASE if you desire notification. Scripts
cannot be returned. Winners will be posted on The Brick's.
