N1K - Night of 1000 Plays
The Brick Playhouse announces a
general call to all playwrights in the Greater Philadelphia area for
short-short plays for our annual Night of 1000 Plays!
These short-short pieces must be under three minutes in
playing time.
We will select and produce about seventy, thirty-five each weekend of
the Festival as we have for the past six years (producing over 400
short-short plays). We welcome a variety of styles and approaches, and
encourage experimental pieces, especially those incorporating movement
and dance. Pieces should be three minutes or less in length and have
modest production requirements for production flexibility -- but don't
be afraid to be innovative!
This year's Night of 1000 Plays will run in two parts during
February
(part I, five performances, and part II, also five performances).
Scripts are needed for consideration as soon as possible, but will be
accepted up to December 15. Please mail or deliver five copies of each
short-short piece -- submit as many as you like -- to The Brick
Playhouse, Attn: N1K, 2034 Sansom St., Philadelphia PA 19103. Do not
send SASE; scripts will not be returned. E-mail submissions will not be
accepted. No remuneration is offered, other than the fun of seeing your
short-short play fully produced.
